For fair justice: Innovation and efficiency in judicial offices – AGILE Justice

This project is part of the Unitary project for the dissemination for the Process and the implementation of operational models in the Judicial Offices for the disposal of the arrested”, promoted by the Ministry of Justice in the framework of the PON Governance and Institutional Capacity 2014-2020 and carried out in synergy with the interventions envisaged by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNNR) in support of the reform of justice. The improvement of the efficiency and performance of the judicial offices, through technological innovation, the organizational support for the computerization and telematization of the judicial offices and the activation of change management interventions are among the actions envisaged. The Project, which involves the judicial offices falling within the districts of the Courts of Appeal of Rome, Florence and Perugia (so-called Macro-Area 3) and that has received funding for the period 1.4.2022-30.9.2023, aims at the innovation and efficiency of the Judicial Offices towards the involvement of university professors, research fellows and scholarship holders with legal, managerial, IT, engineering, economic and sociological skills.

Firstly, the Project aims to provide a complete ‘mapping’ of the operational processes of the judicial offices in the management of the pending cases and to allow the surveying of the organization and functioning of the Process Offices (UpP) activated and of the information systems in use. , in order to understand its criticalities and strengths, supporting the establishment of the UpP in those offices where it has not yet been created.

The Project aims, first of all, to provide a complete ‘mapping’ of the operational processes of the judicial offices in the management of pending cases and to permit the surveying of the organization and functioning of the Process Offices (UpP), that have been activated, as well as the information systems in use in order to comprehend its criticalities and strengths and support the establishment of the UpP in those offices where it has not yet been created. The Project also aims to define organizational and operational models that have as scope to promote efficient management of the backlog so that it can be reduced, also through an enhancement of digitization. Last but not least, it aims to create a stable and fruitful collaboration between judicial offices and universities, also a view to keeping update the teaching in the degree courses and the teaching methods adopted.
